Original winning the East Cheshire Chamber awards for Innovation

Why awards are worth winning

There are some great reasons to enter awards.

One thing is for sure though; if you don’t enter you won’t win.

Get your name out there

Whether you’re business makes it onto to the shortlist or receives the winner’s accolade, either way there are some valuable opportunities to secure press and online coverage.

When word of mouth and recommendation plays such a big part in gaining new business it does no harm to build your business profile and be recognised as being at the top of your game.

Awards also open up some great opportunities for blogging. They can be the perfect platform to let everyone know you’re a winner and tell them what makes you special. You’ll also find that your online rankings are improved so your site will be ranked higher and more often by the search engines.

Reward and recognise your staff

Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the hard work and achievements of the people in your organisation. So take the opportunity to give everyone a reason to feel motivated and good about what they do.

Building pride into your workforce and giving them a reason to feel proud of what has been achieved will surely boost morale. Meanwhile a big night out at an awards ceremony can help strengthen the team and provide some great opportunities to network.

Benchmarking

Putting a good application together really makes you think about what you do best and what you want to be recognised for.

This might also be the time to look at the competition and decide what makes your business different such as innovation, investment or growth.

Attract and retain the best talent

Hiring the best and brightest new recruits can make all the difference to developing your business.

So by validating the company credentials you’re giving yourself the best chance of attracting and retaining the best talent around.

But whatever your reason for entering it has to be a credible entry, well presented and in a category where you can justify winning an award.

Collating the information, filling in the forms and pulling it all together can be a labour intensive process. You also need to assume that you’re up against some stiff competition, so the job has to be thorough to have the best possible chance of winning.

Fortunately it’s a job we’ve done more than a few times for our clients and that’s why they keep on wining and keep coming back for more.

Most recently our client Originem secured a top Chamber of Commerce award that we complied for them. We’ve also placed them in the finals of this year’s Recruiter Awards for Excellence which sees them rubbing shoulders with giants of industry Boots the chemist and Nestle.

So if you’re thinking of entering an award, but not sure about where to start, or you just can’t afford the time, then we’d love to hear from you and help put your business on the map.
